| Consequence | Emergency response may be delayed without the vehicle location information, increasing the risk of injury. |
| Remedy | Dealers will update the telematics control unit software, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed January 17, 2023. Owners may contact BMW customer service at 1-800-525-7417. |
